• Doing even better in 2017 than in 2016

• On-going government cuts and austerity
• The UK economy

4. As a charity trustee, my new year's resolutions are to:

• Prepare more thoroughly for trustee meetings
• Get my head around charity accounts and finances
• Be more out-spoken in trustee meetings
• Not be afraid of asking what might be 'stupid questions'
• Build a better attendance record at trustee meetings
• Gain a better day-by-day understanding of how my charity actually operates
• Get to know the background and skills of my fellow-trustees
• Focus on policy and strategy and not to be preoccupied by operational detail
• Persuade my trustee colleagues to upgrade their skills by regular trustee training
• Make sure our governing document is both up to date and properly observed
